Jack Russell Hunts
Home Up
Hereford Hills Farm

Yes, there is nothing greater than experiencing your dog jumping head-first into a hole!

Jack Russell Terriers were originally bred in England to hunt fox and other quarry.  Our Jack Russell Terriers  love to hunt. They are interested in hunting red fox, raccoon, opossum and ground hogs and even badger (although we haven't tried that yet).  This raccoon was taken on our farm.

Congratulations Charlene and Missy on your Bronze Medallion!!!  15 minutes into our hunting weekend!

Okay, this is Pearl (AKA Crabby_ _ _ and Rick with the possum, oh boy did she have fun!)

This is Pearl's 1st quarry, can you say "But-nuggets"?

The things we do so our dogs can hunt (Dawn got into a "few" burrs) This is "Girls" possum- oh did we find possums!

Lulu, Rick's dog,  got into a big fat coon and he is swimming across this big pond!  I've never seen that before!

Yes, we got another possum, it was just a possum weekend.

This raccoon was worked by our female Oakwood Nova.  She weighs about 13 #'s. The coon weighed 26 #'s.

Hunting with friends... Chili looks great after getting skunked the day before...she did earn her 1st AWTA certificate to opossum right after this! (Thanks to Tim and Dawn for all their help and Charlene's wisdom!)

This possum provided us multiple schooling opportunities and then was put back to a warm cozy home!

The only way to hunt in 5 degree weather is to dig... Thanks Susie!  Chili after getting her 1st JRTCA Natural Hunting Certificate to raccoon!  (all of us worked on this perfect hole and we were quite proud of it!)

This possum was huge... and doing what possums do best "playing dead!"

This little possum was in a log and Jazzy got him out!!  His 1st quarry- he was very excited!

Friends in the field... The Schramers came for a great weekend hunt... Ricci got 2 possums!! (let's get that Bronze!)

The kids are having fun digging out dogs... and who knows what else?

Chili is glad to see us but, sure doesn't want to share her coon with us... the coon tail in her mouth (2nd pic)
This is Chili's 3rd time out... what a treat to see her work a coon with no problems.
